Wardens & Leaders Conference

The Wardens and Vestry Leaders Conference will be held this year on Saturday, March 27th from 9:00am to 3:30pm at Trinity Church, 844 West 4th Street, Williamsport. The theme of the conference is “How the Diocese Works." The deadline for registration is March 18, 2010.

Please note that, although it is called the Wardens and Vestry Leaders Conference, other members of parish lay leadership are also welcome and encouraged to attend; such as Treasurers and the chairs of parish committees, who may not necessarily be vestry members but who might benefit from the discussion at the conference.

Also, please note that the afternoon session will be a presentation by DigitalFaith, Inc., a company who is working with the diocese to enhance our internet presence, including what parishes can do to enhance and integrate their websites. Because of this, parish web managers are also welcome to attend the conference (either the full day or just the afternoon presentation).

We encourage you to bring a group from your parish, so that you can all learn more about how our diocese works. The cost for one person registering from a parish is $20. If two or more people register from your parish, the cost will be $15 each.

   • How the diocesan budget is developed, including budget request
   submissions and deadlines
   • Parish convention delegates’ role at Convocation Meetings, Annual Diocesan
   Convention and beyond
   • Role of the Council of Trustees, Finance Committee & Standing Committee

11:00-11:45 Diocesan Decision Making Part II - Programs and Planning
   • How commissions are chosen and their role
   • Update on the strategic visioning process
   • Update on youth program and the youth commission taskforce

11:45-12:00 Q&A time

12:00-1:00 Noon Prayers and Lunch in “Collegial Groups” for discussion & networking
(wardens, vestry members, treasurers etc will be grouped together to allow for
networking and idea sharing with your colleagues in other parishes)

1:00 – 3:00 “The New Diocesan Website and Adaptability to Parishes”
