Fellowship Time
A very special part in the life of St. Mary's is the fellowship time that follows the 10:30 Sunday service.  Regular attendance at church services does not always ensure getting to know fellow parishioners.  We look forward to this hour to meet others who might be new to the parish, check on those who may have been ill, or just enjoy a chat about what is happening in the lives of others.

Adopt a Highway
St. Mary's participates in the Pennsylvania Adopt a Highway three times a year:  in spring, summer and fall.  For 10 years parishioners have kept a stretch of highway on Tomstown road just outside Waynesboro litter free.

Rummage Sale
In the spring and the fall of the year St. Mary's hosts a sale of good used clothes and house-hold items.  Always a popular event for the community, church members as well enjoy the camaraderie and the good buys!

Lasagna Dinner
To encourage community and church members to vote, St. Mary's sponsors an Election Day Lasagna Dinner.  Proceeds from the dinner go through the Women of the Church for special projects within the church and to local charities such as Human Services and New Garments Always.

Monthly Soup or Salad Supper
From 6:00 to 7:30pm, on the second or third Wednesday of each month, all are invited to join us for a simple supper (bread and soup or salad, depending on the season) and a program, followed by the lovely, brief Compline service. Check out some of our activities here.

Community Game Night
From 6:30 to 10 pm, on the third Friday of each month, young and old alike gather to play games and enjoy each other's company in St. Mary's parish hall. Bring your favorite game and a friend. We welcome anyone who enjoys a good time. Refreshments provided.

Long Range Planning
In late 2008, as the nation and world faced an extended financial crisis, a group of St. Mary's parishioners were commissioned by the vestry to form a Long Range Planning Committee to address the need to maintain the parish on a sound footing, financially and spiritually. A full discernment process was initiated, involving many members of the congregation and Diocesan resources and advisors. A statement describing the process and results can be seen here.
