Nurturing Your Journey

The Episcopal Church Women‟s Board is pleased to host Cass Jendzurski as our keynote speaker. Cass studied therapeutic music and received certification as a professional therapeutic musician. Cass has been the coordinator and trainer voluntarily for "Songs for the Journey‟ since its conception. Her training as a professional therapeutic musician that is shared with her volunteer members enhances the quality of comfort care that they provide. "Songs for the Journey‟ is a nondenominational volunteer music ministry designed to bring peace and comfort to the dying and their families through music.

Workshop presentations:

"Nurturing the ECW‟ – presented by Amy Swiernik. Explore ideas and information on how to revitalize and nurture the ECW in your parish or to start an ECW. By recognizing the importance of working together as One Body, we become one great company of disciples through our spirituality and mission.

"Compassionate Touch‟ – presented by Maureen Durante. Experience a Massage Therapist and Compassionate Touch Practitioner who works predominately with Alzheimer's/Dementia patients in conjunction with physical therapy for individuals whom have chronic pain or are recovering from surgery. Focused touch can reach people at their very core and is a very spiritual experience and sacred time for the patient.

The Saturday schedule is as follows:

8:30 – 9 am - Registration and Light Continental Breakfast.
9 – 11:30 am – Annual Review and Workshops
11:45 – Eucharist - Rev. Nathan Baxter and Rev. Stephen Casey concelebrating.
12:30 – Lunch
1:30 – 2:30 Keynote Speaker Cass Jendzurski – “Songs for the Journey”
2:30 – Song and closing prayers

For those wishing to come on Friday evening, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Westfield Inn and Suites, 2929 Hempland Road, Lancaster, PA 17601under Episcopal Church Women, for $59.00 per night for double occupancy until April 2, 2010.
