140th Diocesan Convention

The Nominating Committee has provided the following slate of candidates for election to Diocesan offices:

Ecclesiastical Trial Court: Elect 2 Clergy; 1 Layperson

The Rev. Dr. Joseph McNamara, Rector, St. Andrew’s Tioga.
Father McNamara has been a priest of the Diocese for 30 years, is Rector of St. Andrew’s Tioga and St. John’s Westfield. Joe is also Chaplain for the PA State Police, and on the Board of Directors of WLIH, a Christian radio station.

The Ven. Andrew France, Archdeacon
Father France is retired from more than 30 years of parish ministry, and currently serves as Archdeacon on the Diocesan staff. Andy is a Chaplain for the Lycoming County Corrections, and is involved in many community organizations.

Mr. Ryan T. Knepp, St. John’s, Huntingdon
Mr. Knepp is a teacher in the Huntingdon Area School District. He has served on Vestry at St. John’s as well as working in the Soup Kitchen, and has been Boomwacker Director.

 

Council of Trustees: Elect 1 Clergy; 1 Layperson

The Rev. Will Lawbaugh
Father Lawbaugh has been Rector of St. Paul’s in Lock Haven for more than three years. He serves as Campus Minister at Lock Haven University, is a Board member of the AIDS Project of Centre and Clinton Counties, and is the Vice President of the Clinton County Housing Coalition. Will also serves on the Diocesan Prison Ministry, Ecumenical Affairs, and Higher Education Commissions.

Dr. Thomas Gemmill, St. James’, Lancaster
Dr. Gemmill is a veterinarian in Lancaster, and has served on the Vestry of St. James, including two terms as Senior Warden. Thomas has been a member of the Lancaster Rotary and was President of that organization, as well as being on the Board of Trustees for the Fulton Opera House.

 

Standing Committee: Elect 2 Clergy; 2 Laypersons

The Rev. Patrick A Collins, Rector, St. John’s Huntingdon
Father Collins is the Chair of the Children’s Commission, and a member of the Liturgy, Higher Education, and Partners in Mission Commissions in the Diocese.

The Rev. Canon Stephen C. Casey
Father Casey is Rector of St. Edward’s Lancaster, and is on the Board of the School of Christian Studies, as well as the Congregational Development and Ecumenical Affairs Commissions. Stephen is President of the Lancaster Convocation, and is involved with the Lancaster Country Day School.

Ms. Margo P. Leithead, Christ Church, Berwick
Ms. Leithead, Christ Church, Berwick, has served on both the Standing Committee and the Council of Trustees in the past, as well as Sr. Warden of her parish. Margo is also a member of the DAR, the Twentieth Century Delphian Club, and The United States Pony Club.

Mr. Stephen H. Palmer, Hope Church, Manheim
Mr. Palmer, a practicing attorney, currently serves on the Vestry of Mount Hope Church in Manheim. He has also served as Co-Chair of the Search Committee for a new priest. In the past, Stephen served on the Session and the Council Committee and President of the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church Nursery Day School.

Ms. MaryAnn Dellinger, St. John’s, Marietta
Ms. Dellinger, currently in the Diocesan Diaconate Program, is the Chair of the Christian Education and the Worship and Training Committees at St. John’s, as well as being on the Vestry, and serving as chalice bearer, lector, and acolyte. MaryAnn is also on the Diocesan Youth Commission.

Mr. Samuel Ward, All Saints, Hershey
Mr. Ward is Senior Warden of All Saints and has been Treasurer in the past. His other activities in the parish include involvement in the Finance Committee and the Choir, and as an Adult Education teacher, Lector, and Eucharistic Minister. Mr. Ward has been an alternate deputy to General Convention, as well as a member of the Incorporated Trustees and Operation Understanding Committee.
